How the quiz works and where the guidance comes from
Preferences are compared using a simple MATES editorial weighting: your main priority gets extra weight, with adjustments for study level, family plans, tuition preference and location. These weights are not an official ranking, a scientific test or a visa-approval score. Similar preferences can produce similar suggestions.
Family and partner-work restrictions can move a country out of the automatic shortlist and into individual assessment. A short quiz cannot verify every eligible course, sponsorship exception or immigration route.
Low-tuition references describe possible public-university or community-college routes. They are not quotations for courses available through MATES. Ask for the exact institution’s fees for a Filipino applicant, living costs and financial requirements.
For Spain, France and Germany, a qualifying Schengen long-stay visa or residence permit may allow short visits to other Schengen countries, generally up to 90 days in any 180 days, subject to entry conditions. This does not grant the right to settle or work elsewhere.
